Co-workers buy Ukrainian colleague new bike after hers was stolen
This is the heart-warming moment a woman who had her bicycle stolen was gifted a new one by her work colleagues.
Iryna Hordiienko, 26, had locked her bike outside the gym on October 21 when it was stolen.
After hearing about her poor turn of luck, her colleagues at community magazine publisher CommunityAd pooled some money together to buy her a new one.
Video shows Iryna overwhelmed with emotions as her colleagues reveal the brand new bicycle.
Iryna, a content creator for CommunityAd social media in Margate, Kent, said: "I didn't expect that my colleagues would give me such a gift. "
"In Ukraine, no one has ever shown me such kindness and generosity at work. "
"Such an act from these people was a great pleasant surprise for me. "
"I am insanely grateful to them."
Iryna fled her homestead in Kharkiv, Ukraine, in May 2022 after Russia invaded and came to the UK under the Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme.
Since she says that she has found a new family in her colleagues.
Iryna said: "I've been working with these people for a year and a half now and it's been wonderful."
"I feel like I'm with my family. "
"I'm excited to come to work every day because I am happy to work with these people."
"I think our close-knit community is the main reason they were so kind to gather together and get me the bike."
