Goby fish seemingly walks on land to say hello to human
This is the bizarre moment a goby fish appeared to walk on land - sauntering over to a human to say 'hello'.
Footage shows the fish, which appeared to be a mudskipper, emerging from a river in Sarawak, Malaysia, on December 10.
The fish dragged itself across the mud using its fins to approach a local named Nas Anisha, who had been visiting the river to feed it.
It then turned back and retreated into the muddy water.
Nas said: 'I always see that fish burying leftover food that I throw into the river. Every day, I would call out to it to feed it.'
The goby fish is a small, bottom-dwelling species found in both freshwater and marine environments.
The mudskipper is a type of goby fish that can live both in water and on land. They are known for their ability to 'skip' across mudflats using their powerful pectoral fins. They can also breathe through their skin and walk on land for brief periods.
