Drivers battled severe floods amid heavy rain in Indonesia.

Water levels surged 30 to 100 cm across Tangerang, Banten, inundating homes in five districts after torrential rain on Tuesday evening, January 28.

Around 680 families were evacuated using inflatable boats from Pasar Kemis, Rajeg, Sepatan, Teluknaga, and Kosambi.

Flooding also disrupted operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, leading to the diversion of 23 flights. Operations returned to normal by Wednesday morning.

Some roads, including the Jakarta Outer Ring Road to Kosambi, were temporarily closed.

Dramatic footage by Ri Yo shows a submerged road on January 29.

Ri yo said: 'Kelapa Gading is still seen to be flooded.'

Indonesia and some neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia have been experiencing monsoon season, which brings soaring temperatures followed by powerful afternoon rainstorms, leading to widespread flash floods.

Other parts of the country have been recently hit with landslides that have buried homes and killed dozens of people.
