Pint-sized builder renovates his parents' home - aged SEVEN
Meet the pint-sized builder who has renovated his parents' home - laying floorboards, tiling wall and using a drill - aged just SEVEN.
Little Abel Beck begged his parents, Heather, 33, and Weston, 38, to help remodel their 3,000-square-foot fixer-upper.
Abel had watched his handyman dad knock down a wall, tear up the floor, and sand down wood, and he wanted to do it himself.
The family moved into the four-bedroom property - which was last updated in the 1990s - in June 2024. Heather and Weston decided to let Abel get stuck in but didn't expect him to be as helpful as he proved.
They kitted him out in a hard hat and his own little tool belt and put Abel to work, with the toddler focusing on tiling and flooring.
The couple has spent $24k transforming their home, and Heather estimates doing the work themselves has saved them $192k - and Abel now wants to be a builder when he grows up.
Heather, a supply teacher from Dallas, Texas, US, said: "After we discovered he knew how to do the task, tiling, we let him help as much as he wanted. "
"The next big task he learned was how to lay tiles. He picked up how to put tile on the shower very quickly, he is very talented. "
"He can operate a nail gun, use an electric saw, tile bathroom walls, do flooring entirely, and use a spray paint gun. "
"He knows how to put epoxy [a resin] on the garage floor. He also helped install our insulation and change our electrical outlet covers."
Abel said: "I like working on the house, I know how to do stuff independently. My parents don't have to show me how to do it. I just figured it out, and it is so fun. When I grow up, I want to be a Police officer 'cause I wanna catch all the bad guys." "
The family shared their renovations online, and an impressed follower sent Abel his own toolkit - including a drill, screws, hammer, and nails.
Heather says one of the most notable moments of Abel's building career was when the little lad started to work on the kitchen room flooring himself.
Abel measured the floor and marked where he wanted his dad to cut the next board. He worked on it for 30 minutes and figured out how to do it himself.
When his dad arrived home, he was stunned to realise Abel had independently completed a row of flooring.
Heather said: "I posted a video from our security camera in the house, which now has 44 million views. "
"He [Abel] was in the kitchen, and we caught him on tape putting down the insane flooring."
"We are still working on the house and the outside of the home. He just helps us with whatever. "
"We have been working on this house since June, but it depends on whether he wants to help that day."
DIY Abel has done -
- Helped tile the bathroom
- Helped lay the wooden kitchen floor
- Knocked down walls in the living room
- Painted the garage
