A piglet born with a human-looking face baffled locals in rural Philippines.

The newborn was delivered fourth by its sow, but it was the only one with a bizarre appearance out of eight babies in Negros Oriental, the Philippines, on January 22.

Footage shows the piglet looking like an underdeveloped human baby. Its head strangely resembled a fetus skull.

It has two eyes, a nose, and a severe underbite. A muscle was protruding from its forehead, although its limbs had hooves for feet.

Farmer Alfredo Cardinas said: 'When we saw it, we were so scared. It cried like a baby. It was almost human. It was terrifying.'

A local veterinarian checked the piglet and said it could have been prematurely born.

The medic said: 'There could also be an abnormality with the mother while it was pregnant.

'While it looked like a human baby, it is impossible that a mother pig would birth a half-human child.'
