Thousands of visitors are expected at Painswick Rococo Garden throughout February as the garden's famous snowdrops come into bloom.

Deputy Head Gardener Jasper Johns said: "We think the snowdrops have been here for a few hundred years and are potentially linked to a plantsman who worked on the estate in the 1700s."

"We've done a rough count and we think there are about 5 million blooms but they are always growing every year."

Milder winters mean that the snowdrops have been blooming earlier in recent years.
