On January 16, 2025 at 5:45 PM ET, the rocket suffered a catastrophic malfunction, re-entered the atmosphere with a white flash, and then broke into pieces with multiple white flashes. As debris rained down, it left incredible colored trails in the sky over the Turks and Caicos Islands. No injuries reported so far except strained necks among many who watched the display with jaw-dropping amazement. SpaceX described the rocket failure as a 'rapid unscheduled disassembly.' Elon Musk posted 'Success is uncertain, but entertainment is guaranteed!'"
