Drivers battled through torrents to escape severe floods in Indonesia.

Heavy rain caused floods up to 9ft (3m) deep in six districts in West Kalimantan on Thursday, January 30.

The affected areas included Bengkayang, Sambas, Landak, Singkawang, Sanggau, and Mempawah regencies.

Footage shows vehicles navigating through the deluge, with one nearly swept away by the floodwaters.

Data from the West Kalimantan BPBD shows that 314 villages across 60 sub-districts were flooded, affecting 43,092 families, or 148,693 individuals.

The floods also impacted several public facilities, including village offices, police stations, schools, traditional markets in Bengkayang, houses of worship, and other public buildings.

Daniel, Chair of the West Kalimantan Province Regional Disaster Management Agency's Disaster Information Task Force, said: 'It is hoped that all residents of Bengkayang Regency will be aware of the potential for disaster in their respective areas and immediately evacuate to a safer location.'
