The explosion occurred near Chinnappampatty village, in Salem city, in southern India’s Tamil Nadu, on January 30. Visuals show two workers running across the road noticing a small fire break out in a truck. A man is seen trying to put out the fire using water, but moments later, the truck explodes, sending flames across the road. The blast shatters the truck, with debris landing on the road. According to sources, the fire broke out when workers heated paint in an LPG gas cylinder before using it for painting. The cylinder caught fire and exploded after the workers attempted to extinguish it. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
