Harbin, China - January 28, 2025 A quick-thinking traffic officer sprang into action to save a choking child on the night of January 28 in Harbin’s Daoli district. At around 8:40 p.m., auxiliary officer Du Shuangchang was on duty when he received an urgent plea for help. A young boy had choked on a frozen meat skewer and was struggling to breathe. Du rushed over and performed the Heimlich maneuver. After about 40 seconds, the child expelled the obstruction and gradually recovered. Grateful parents thanked Du repeatedly for his life-saving response.
