India: Goat trapped in 30-feet well rescued by women firefighter in swift operation
Thrissur, India - January 31, 2025 A woman firefighter, alongside her team, executed a daring rescue to save a goat that had fallen into a 30-foot-deep well. The incident took place in the Mudikode area of Pananchery village council in Thrissur district, Kerala, southern India, on January 31. Visuals show rescue officials lowering a net into the well, with a woman rescuer inside. She carefully drags the struggling goat into the net before being lifted to safety along with the animal. The other officials then pull the goat out of the net safely. Speaking to Newslions, Fire Station Officer Renjith Poovathingal stated that Women Fire and Rescue Officer (FRO) Aalma Madhavan played a crucial role in rescuing a goat that had fallen into a 30-foot-deep well at the Choondayil house, owned by Daisy. The fire rescue team received the information at 5:45 PM on Friday, and the operation lasted about half an hour. During the rescue, Aalma Madhavan was lowered into the well, where she carefully secured the struggling goat inside a net before being lifted to safety. The mission was led by Senior Fire and Rescue Officer (SFRO) Rajesh MG, along with team members Fire and Rescue Officers (FRO) Santosh Kumar (Driver), Ramesh, Mahesh, and Home Guard Premjith.
