United States - January 29, 2025 A suspected drunk driver slammed into a parked Michigan State Police (MSP) patrol vehicle on I-75 Wednesday, Jan. 29, leaving a trooper and several motorists with minor injuries. The patrol car was stationed on the roadside as troopers investigated an unrelated minor crash when it was struck. The incident highlights the ongoing danger faced by law enforcement officers working on highways. “The shoulder of the road is a dangerous place for anyone,” said Col. James F. Grady II, MSP director. He urged drivers to slow down and move over when emergency lights are flashing, stressing that this simple action can save lives. This crash adds to a growing list of similar incidents, with seven MSP vehicles hit already this month.
