Canadian ice hockey fans booed the U.S. national anthem in response to the Trump tariff war.

Many of the crowd erupted into jeers while the Star-Spangled Banner was playing ahead of the Ottawa Senators' game against the Minnesota Wild at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on February 1.

They voiced their dismay after U.S. President Donald Trump announced 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian imports and 10 per cent on Canadian energy on Saturday.

Footage captured by Alex Adams shows mixed reactions from the audience, with some fans booing loudly while others clapped and cheered.

Outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded by placing tariffs worth 155 billion Canadian dollars (106 billion USD) on American goods entering the country.
