An out-of-control car crashed into a pit on a highway in India.

Dramatic footage shows the speeding vehicle veering off the road and overturning near Dhordo, Kutch, in Gujarat, on January 14.

Authorities said the car also collided with a motorcycle near Gorewali, injuring two riders.

Reports indicated that the driver lost control of the steering.

In another incident, two people were killed, and two others were severely injured when a car collided with a lorry in Telangana on Thursday, January 16.

Police said the car crashed into the lorry from behind while it was turning left towards a petrol pump.

A multi-vehicle crash in Mumbai on January 15 left three passengers dead and 14 others injured.

The crash involved a luxury bus, a container truck, and a tempo. Authorities said the tempo, travelling from Mumbai to Nashik, lost control, hit a divider, and veered into the opposite lane.

A container truck from the other side collided with the tempo after the driver saw it driving the wrong way.

The container truck driver avoided a head-on collision by using emergency brakes and swerving left, but a luxury bus was severely damaged after being struck.

Three passengers seated at the back of the bus died from their injuries and were pronounced dead by authorities.

India has one of the highest rates of road accidents in the world, with thousands of fatalities and injuries reported each year.

The poor track record is blamed on unsafe road conditions, reckless driving, inadequate enforcement of traffic laws, and a lack of awareness about road safety.
