China - February 03, 2025 Chinese exporters gaining ground in global markets (Voice_over) Recent data from China's General Administration of Customs shows the country's foreign trade stood at about 6.1 trillion U.S. dollars last year, with exports of products like new energy vehicles, 3D printers, industrial robots increasing significantly. Self-owned brands also increased their share of exports... companies like this one that makes thermal cups. At its factory in east China's Zhejiang Province, rows of collaborative robots are used to make the products which are destined for places like Europe and Australia. (Voice_over) Customs officials, meanwhile, have implemented a raft of measures to expedite the final export process, including tax breaks for the imported parts that are used by Chinese manufacturers to build their products. (Sound_bite) Zhang Quanwei, Chief of general section 4 of Jinhua Customs under Hangzhou Customs: "We first categorize the high-end materials, advanced equipment and key parts they imported from overseas in advance, and then reserve inspection service for them, meanwhile guide them to efficiently use tax breaks for processing trade and equipment import, so that they can lower their cost." (Voice_over) Officials from the General Administration of Customs says exports of home appliances like washing machines and food processors increased last year by more than 15 percent compared to 2023.
