Schoolboy attacks classmate 'who made fun of his small penis in leaked video'... only for brawl to broadcast nationwide
This is the disturbing moment a schoolboy attacked a classmate who allegedly leaked his private video and made fun of his penis size.
The vengeful schoolboy named Focus, and his friends Tun and Oat, brutally ganged up on their classmate named Ice, 14, at his home in Kalasin, Thailand, on January 23.
Footage shows the trio descending on Ice, who fell helplessy to the ground unable to defend himself from the flurry of punches and kicks. One boy named To allegedly filmed the assault, while another named Sea served as a lookout.
But the case of the attack was taken up by a local charity law group and reached national television to be seen by millions of people - showing a case of the Streisand Effect in action.
Local media reported that Focus blamed Ice for allegedly spreading a video in which he was pleasuring himself for his ex-girlfriend. The leak led other schoolboys to ridicule him for his 'little worm'.
Ice denied he was the leaker, claiming Focus's girlfriend was the real culprit. He was taken to the Kamalasai Hospital for a check-up. He suffered abrasions and numerous bruises across his neck and back.
Ice's furious mother, Thanawadee, 59, said she has filed a report with the local police. She said: 'My son was attacked by a group of teenage boys until he was injured. The attack even happened in my own home. I have filed a complaint and intend to pursue legal action against the boys until this case is concluded.'
Police Colonel Theerawut Wongsa-auan, superintendent of the Kamalasai District police station, said on January 30: ‘I have been informed about the incident and ordered investigators to conduct the investigation. We have issued summons for four suspects and expect them to surrender to the police soon.'
The incident is the latest involving violent youths in Thailand.
In October 2023, a 14-year-old gunman opened fire in a shopping mall in Bangkok, killing three shoppers. While on January 12, teenage gangsters, including the sons of two local policemen, battered to death a woman, 47, in Sa Kaeo province.
Education expert Sompong Jitradub blamed the violence on a 'weak society'.
He said: 'As someone who has been working with children for 30 years, I can see that the new generation of children is gradually forming gangs, causing problems and unrest everywhere.
'This is because the school system lacks flexibility and space for children to express themselves and relax. It has become a space filled with authority and regulations. Therefore, it is impossible for any ministry or government department alone to address this issue. The government may need to take on the responsibility and tackle this problem seriously.'
The Department of Children and Youth Protection said there were 12,000 cases of youths committing crimes from 2022 to 2023.
The Streisand Effect is a phenomenon where attempts to suppress or censor information unintentionally draw more public attention to it. It is named after Barbra Streisand, whose 2003 lawsuit to remove an aerial photo of her home led to widespread sharing of the image.
