Tourists were evacuated as heavy rain caused flooding in Costa del Sol hotels.

Strong winds and strong downpours prompted emergency response teams to assist affected guests in Malaga, Spain, on February 3.

By 1:00 pm, 25 firefighters from the Provincial Fire Consortium had responded to 19 incidents in Torremolinos, with additional interventions in Velez-Malaga and Rincon de la Victoria.

Firefighters responded to severe flooding in three major hotels. Water levels exceeded one metre, causing extensive damage to kitchens and spas.

They also rescued a vehicle from floodwaters and managed properties facing structural risks, including a collapsing wall.

Footage captures the deluge at the hotel as authorities responded.

Aemet warned that conditions remain critical, predicting rainfall of up to 100 litres per square metre along the Costa del Sol within the next 12 hours.
