Philadelphia, United States - February 02, 2025 February 2, 2025 — NTSB drone footage reveals the extensive debris field left by the catastrophic Learjet 55 crash that killed seven people, including one person on the ground, in northeast Philadelphia on January 31. The twin-engine medevac jet was carrying six Mexican nationals— a pediatric patient, her mother, and four crew members—when it plunged into a neighborhood shortly after departing from Northeast Philadelphia Airport en route to Missouri. The young girl had been receiving treatment at Shriners Children’s Hospital. At least 19 people on the ground were injured as the crash scattered debris across a four-to-six block radius. Investigators are combing through the wreckage, searching for the plane’s damaged cockpit voice recorder to determine what caused the jet to descend at a final speed of 11,000 feet per minute.
