United States - January 31, 2025 January 31, 2025 — A harrowing hit-and-run unfolded on January 28 when a tractor-trailer struck a silver passenger car on the I-85 overpass at Pleasant Hill Road, pushing it through two intersections before fleeing the scene. The collision occurred as the truck attempted a right lane change near Venture Parkway, hitting the car and causing it to spin in front of the massive vehicle. Miraculously, the car's driver was unharmed and reported the incident to authorities. Gwinnett County Police swiftly tracked down the truck and identified the driver as 31-year-old Christian Barrier of Alabama. Barrier turned himself in on January 31 and now faces charges of hit and run, improper lane change, reckless driving, and reckless conduct.
