Footage shows the daring act atop the patrol vehicle in Mashhad, Iran, on the night of February 3.

She can be seen waving her hands and shouting on the busy street as cars drive by.

Some passersby honked at her as she sat on the windscreen while police officers stood next to the vehicle.

A man armed with an assault rifle can be seen walking past the car as the footage ends.

On November 24, a student who stripped to her underwear at the Islamic Azad University campus in apparent protest was arrested.

The Islamic Republic of Iran enforces strict hijab laws primarily due to religious and cultural reasons. After the 1979 Iranian Revolution, the new regime, led by Ayatollah Khomeini, mandated that all women wear the hijab as a symbol of piety, dignity, and identity. This was intended to uphold Islamic values and distinguish Iran from Western influences.

Morality police are responsible for ensuring that these regulations are enforced.

On September 16, 2022, 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, a Kurdish-Iranian woman, died in a hospital in Tehran under suspicious circumstances after being arrested by the country's morality police for allegedly failing to wear her hijab correctly.
