Nursery boy goes viral singing "Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond" in adorable video
A nursery boy has gone viral for his adorable rendition of Scottish classic tune "Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond."
Harry McLean, 4, from Lomond School Nursery sang the song for a Burns Week performance and received nearly 100k views on Facebook.
The post attracted hundreds of comments from all around the world - dubbing Harry "a wee star," a "little charmer", and "a ray of sunshine."
Residents of Australia, Germany, Canada, and beyond also shared their memories of Scotland - with commenters reminiscing about Scottish family members, childhoods hearing the song, and trips to the Scottish countryside.
Laura Canero, Head of Early Years at Lomond School said: "We are absolutely thrilled and so proud of Harry. "
"His performance truly captured the spirit of Burns Week and has touched the hearts of so many people around the world. It's wonderful to see how a simple yet heartfelt rendition can bring people together and remind them of their roots and heritage." "
"We take great joy in celebrating every child at Lomond School Nursery and fostering their unique talents, so it's truly wonderful that Harry has played a role in highlighting our fantastic nursery."
Head of Marketing and Communications at Lomond School, Barry McGinness said: "I receive all the notifications from social media on my phone and on Saturday it barely stopped buzzing - I knew the video would be well received but I was taken aback how far around the world it reached. "
"It was incredible to witness the overwhelming response from people near and far in real time. "
"The comments were filled with nostalgic memories and heartfelt messages, with many expressing gratitude for being reminded of home. "
"This unexpected viral moment has not only put a spotlight on talented young Harry but also on the sense of community and pride that music and culture can inspire. "
"The pupils at Lomond School truly make it a remarkable place, and it's fantastic that this can be recognised globally. Celebrating and showcasing their talents is the best part about my job."
