A tiger and a wild boar were stranded together in a well after a wild chase in India.

Local media reported that the juvenile tiger, which had been chasing the wild boar, accidentally fell into the hole along with its prey in Madhya Pradesh on February 4.

Villagers promptly called authorities to retrieve the helpless pair, who were reportedly waiting patiently, with the boar keeping a safe distance from the cat.

Dramatic footage shows the tiger being rescued by kindhearted locals and Pench Tiger Reserve personnel from the water-filled pit. They first hang a cot in the well, with the wild feline climbing into it, and then pull it up with a crane.

Both animals were unharmed and successfully released back into the forest.

Wild boars are part of the tiger's natural diet, especially in areas where both animals coexist. Tigers are carnivores and skilled hunters, often preying on large mammals such as deer, wild boars, and other animals in their habitat.
