Washington, United States - January 31, 2025 [Note: Royalty free music] A new video from January 30, 2025, shows National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigators recovering the flight data recorder from the Bombardier CRJ-700, which plunged into the Potomac River after a mid-air collision near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The deadly crash on Wednesday night involved the regional American Airlines jet, carrying 60 passengers and four crew members, and a UH-60 Black Hawk Army helicopter with three service members on a training flight. None are believed to have survived. The CRJ-700, widely used for regional flights since 1999, was operated by PSA Airlines, while the Black Hawk, a military workhorse introduced in 1979, has served in operations worldwide, including the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. As investigators analyze the recovered recorder, the search continues for more clues to understand what led to the tragic collision of these two globally operated aircraft.
