A house slid into a river in California after days of heavy rain.

A mudslide caused the home to fall into the Russian River, in Forestville, California on February 4, 2025.

Nobody was in the house when it crashed into the river.

Footage filmed on February 4, 2025, showed the house remains floating down the Russian River.

Speaking on the mudslide, Sergeant Juan Valencia, said: "As we all know, the Russian River is a beautiful place, especially during the summer."

"But when we get these heavy rains, it's very unpredictable."

Jim Cole, 64, from Duncans Mills, California, was walking down the riverside around 4pm when he noticed the house.

He said: "I have lived up here for eight years, this storm was definitely the biggest storm of this winter and probably one of the worst storms I have experienced since living here."

"It has been raining on and off for three days straight, it was a pretty serous storm that is uncommon in this area."
