This is the shocking moment when the brakes of a bus fail as a large lorry pulls out onto a busy road, causing a crash and leaving at least 12 injured.

CCTV footage captures the truck waiting for traffic to pass before it begins to pull out onto the Impala 131 road in Puerto Cortes, northern Honduras, on January 29.

A red pickup truck successfully stopped in front of the lorry. However, the oncoming bus reportedly suffered brake failure, causing the driver to attempt to steer around the large vehicle.

The bus then collided with the lorry's cabin and flipped onto its side.

Local media reported that several children were among the injured.

Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, providing treatment to those affected. No serious injuries have been reported.

The accident is being investigated.
