Villagers were spooked by an alien-faced jackfruit found hanging from a tree in Thailand.

Footage shows the strange fruit with an unusual, almost eerie appearance hanging from the tree in Lampang on January 27.

Reports stated that resident Dusit Dokhom was about to harvest the peculiar jackfruit from the 16-year-old tree on his property when he noticed that it bore facial features resembling eyes, a nose, and a mouth.

Upon hearing the news, curious locals flocked to his backyard to see the bizarre tropical fruit for themselves.

Footage shows intrigued villagers snapping selfies with the green fruit, which reportedly weighs around 18 lbs (8 kg).

In another clip, some hopeful locals are seen lighting candles and incense beneath the tree, praying for luck and numbers for the upcoming lottery draw.
