Private plane crashes onto field killing two onboard in the Philippines
A private jet owned by an American aerospace company crashed into a field killing two people onboard in the Philippines.
The twin turboprop Beech King Air 350 plane, with body number N349CA, plummeted from the sky and crash-landed near homes in a rural part of Maguindanao del Sur province, at around 2:30 pm today, February 6.
Residents found two dead men wearing red and blue shirts inside the wreckage. A buffalo grazing in the field was also killed when it was struck by the aircraft.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said in a statement: 'The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines confirms that an aircraft has crashed in Maguindanao del Sur. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.'
Officials said the bodies were being retrieved from the crash site for investigation.
Records show the aircraft was owned by Metra, which has offices across the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Singapore. The firm specialises in defence and national security.
The crash occurred four days after a helicopter nosedived into a swamp in Nueva Ecija province.
The Robinson helicopter with body number RP-C3424 plunged into the pond, killing the 25-year-old pilot, Julia Flori Po. The aircraft had shuttled Philippine senator Ronald dela Rosa to a wedding shortly before the crash.
