Tourists were evacuated as a fire ripped through a hotel spa in Bangkok.

Video shows firefighters putting out the flames that broke out on the second-floor spa of the building in the Soi Sukhumvit 11 area, at 1:12 pm on February 5.

Smoke billowed out of the windows as the officers tried to ventilate the area.

A fire department spokesman said: 'By 1:31 pm, the fire was extinguished. There are no injuries from the incident. The cause is under investigation.'

Just two days earlier, guests were sent fleeing into the street when a fire tore through another hotel also in Bangkok. The blaze broke out at the five-storey building in Bangkok after a visitor allegedly left the stove unattended while cooking dinner on February 3.

Fires in Thailand are commonly caused by aging electrical infrastructure, extensive use of wood in home construction, and regional heatwaves that can exacerbate fire risks. Rapid fire response can also be hampered in densely packed neighbourhoods where narrow streets can delay firefighting efforts.
