US, Phoenix: Phoenix Vehicle vs Pedestrian Collision
Phoenix, United States - February 06, 2025 02/06/2025 12:30 am (GMT-0700) PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near 5th Avenue and eastbound Maricopa Freeway (I-17 frontage road) around 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified pedestrian in the roadway. Phoenix Fire crews arrived at the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local trauma center in unknown condition. According to PD on scene, the involved driver pulled over onto 3rd Drive east of the collision scene. The driver remained on location and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. A hard closure has been established for eastbound Maricopa Freeway spanning between 5th Avenue and 3rd Drive. Phoenix Police have no available estimate for the closure duration. Phoenix Police are standing by for an update from hospital staff to determine if the collision investigation will be handled by patrol units of Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives.
