Disturbing body camera footage reveals the moment when an XL bully dog charged from the kitchen and bit the officer on his upper leg. The officer struggled in pain as his colleague attempted to stop the attack with incapacitant spray, but it had no effect. After nearly a minute of biting, the dog finally released the officer, who managed to escape with his colleague through the front door. The officer was hospitalized for surgery on four bite wounds, while his colleague sustained a small injury. The XL bully and a pit bull terrier — a banned breed — were removed from the property. The dog's owner, Aden Hollyoake, and his partner, Shanell Lawrence, were later arrested and charged. Lawrence was convicted of failing to properly control the XL bully and possession of the pit bull, while Hollyoake was also found guilty of possessing the pit bull.
