An overstuffed pressure cooker exploded, shattering kitchen windows in China.

Mr Hua was preparing a family Spring Festival meal, cooking boiling chicken stew in Chongqing, on February 2 when the explosion occurred.

Hua had overfilled the pot, blocking the pressure relief ducts, causing the pressure to build to dangerous levels and triggering the blast.

Security footage from outside the kitchen shows a massive explosion ripping through the room, sending broken glass and debris into the garden.

Hua said: 'One wall was all chicken bones and debris. There was just one chicken foot left in the pot.'

Pressure cookers use steam to build high pressure for faster cooking. Misuse or faulty safety features, such as overfilling, blocked release valves, or faulty seals, can cause pressure to exceed safe limits, resulting in ruptures and damage.
