Caring flamingo hugs zoo visitor in Thailand
This is the heartwarming moment a caring flamingo hugged a zoo visitor in Thailand.
The affectionate pink-feathered bird approached the holidaymaker for a brief cuddle at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi, Thailand, on February 5.
Footage shows the long-legged bird wading toward the man.
The vacationer can then be seen in the video opening his arms wide, waiting for the animal to rest its head on his body.
The man then gently caressed the feathers of the animal. After the brief, amusing encounter, the flamingo returned to its flock.
Flamingos are naturally social birds, often living in large colonies. Their social instincts can make them more receptive to interactions with humans, especially if they have been raised or regularly handled in captivity.
When these animals receive food, care, and positive interactions from humans, they can associate humans with positive experiences, leading to more affectionate behaviour.
