Passengers scream as turbulence hits flight in China
Shocked passengers screamed as turbulence hit their flight in China.
Travellers experienced severe air disturbance during their three-hour domestic journey from Wuxi to Chengdu on February 3.
Footage shows those onboard screaming in unison as the cabin trembled.
No one reportedly sustained injuries from the incident.
Local media reported that the aircraft landed safely at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.
The filmer said: 'It was 90 seconds of sheer terror. The plane was shaken violently by strong air currents, jolting like a roller coaster.
'A flight attendant was in tears while trying to comfort passengers for half an hour. Many passengers were crying—it was a difficult journey home,' she added.
Studies show severe turbulence has increased by up to 55 per cent on busy flight routes over the past four decades, which some scientists say is due to climate change.
