This is the terrifying moment an electric trike was engulfed in flames while moving without a driver through the streets in China.

Shocking footage shows the out-of-control tricycle careening down a road in Wuhan, Hubei province, on February 4.

It only stops when it crashes into a scooter rider parked by the roadside, knocking him off his bike.

Rather than fleeing, courageous bystanders rush to pull the motorist to safety and wheel his scooter away while the three-wheeled vehicle continues to burn until the clip ends.

There have been no updates on the biker's condition following the crash.

Reports indicate that the trike caught fire after its battery failed.
