SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): LAM CHING YAN, Short track speed skater
"I tried ice skating for the first time when I was 8 years old and gradually started training. Now, I am a professional short track speed skater."

Lam claimed two golds and one silver in individual events at the 2024 Asian Open Short Track Speed Skating Trophy held in Indonesia in August 2024.

She took a step forward and bagged a bronze medal in the women's 500m at the ISU Short Track Junior World Cup in Italy last November.

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): LAM CHING YAN, Short track speed skater
"I have been continuously competing in the World Cup events, gaining experience from the matches and learning a lot. Some technical issues are really difficult for me to grasp and understand, no matter how hard I try. That has been the most challenging part. The coach comes up with different ways to improve my training. I also communicate with senior athletes, to seek advice from them. I dedicated the entire year of 2024 to preparing for the Asian Winter Games. It has been a tough year, but I have given it my all."
