The 16th edition of the India Art Fair is being held at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds in the Indian capital New Delhi, bringing together a vibrant mix of contemporary and modern art from across South Asia.

The four-day event, which is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, attracts over 100 exhibitors including leading Indian and international artists, museums, and independent creators.

The fair highlights the growing influence of Indian and South Asian art on the global stage. A key attraction this year is an interactive digital art installation, reflecting the fusion of technology and creativity.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): JAYASHREE CHAKRAVARTY, Kolkata-based artist
"Art is always like, people are drawn to art. And when it is addressing something very important, what's happening around the world and what's going to happen, which is a big problem which we are sensing. So then people do see it, do understand it. Through art there is a lot of understanding people get. I think that's very important and we are lucky over here that people are taking interests, whatever the artists have done, how the process is, how it looks. Ultimately, people are taking a lot of interest nowadays."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): DEBASISH MUKHERJEE, Delhi-based multidisciplinary artist
"Very, very optimistic. Because with each year, I think this fair is becoming better. The team of the art fair is fantastic. The way they are kind of moving ahead with this every year, it's becoming just better. And I'm very hopeful, very hopeful."
