Skoda hits pole and causes traffic lights to collapse on pedestrian crossing
This is the shocking moment a Skoda crashes into a pole causing traffic lights to fall onto a pedestrian crossing.
The footage, captured on the dashcam of another vehicle, shows it stopping at the zebra crossing and traffic lights as pedestrians cross the road on Oktyabrya Avenue in Yaroslavl, Russia, at around 2:40 pm on February 3.
Suddenly, the Skoda veers off course, hitting a pole to the right and flipping onto its side, causing one of the pedestrians to run for cover as the traffic lights collapse onto the crossing.
Local media reports quoted the driver as saying he only remembers feeling a slight vibration in the steering wheel before skidding into the post.
The man had reportedly complained about issues with his steering wheel and had taken the car for repairs, but mechanics found no fault with it.
It is unclear what injuries the driver sustained in the crash or whether he required hospital treatment.
