This is the shocking moment a Lada, driven by a teenager, skids on an icy road and crashes into an oncoming bus with children on board.

Footage shows the 18-year-old driver taking a bend at speed in Cherepovets, Vologda Oblast, Russia, on Wednesday, January 22.

The car slid, and despite the driver's attempt to correct course, it veered in the opposite direction, positioning it sideways in the path of an oncoming city bus.

The coach collided with the car, causing damage to both vehicles and making at least one child on the bus fall to the floor.

The Mayor of Cherepovets, Vadim Germanov, said: 'Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and rescuers worked at the scene. They freed the victims from the mangled car.'

It is unclear whether anyone was injured.
