STORYLINE:

The China-Africa digital learning center was launched on Friday at the Open University of Kenya in Konza Technopolis city, located about 65 kilometers southeast of the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.

Faculty members from the Open University of Kenya and Donghua University of China graced the launch ceremony of the China-Africa Regional Cooperation Center for Digital Education and the University of China's Open Learning Center.

"This is the first in Africa and we are so delighted and proud as the Open University of Kenya to host this particular center. We are hoping that we shall not only be able to impact the Kenyan society, but we'll also have an opportunity to impact boundaries beyond Kenya, the East African region, the African region, and even the international region.
We have so many areas of collaboration. Within this collaboration, we have an agreement that we are going to co-create both academic and non-academic programs that will be offered to the various groups of people given the needs the current society is in need of."
