US: Heroic Rescue as Driver Trapped in Flooded Creek Near Pt Reyes Station
Point Reyes Station, United States - February 04, 2025 A dramatic rescue unfolded early on February 4, 2025, when a driver lost control of her vehicle after hitting a large puddle on Platform Bridge Rd, just outside Pt Reyes Station. The roadways were flooding due to heavy rain, and the driver’s car was swept into a flooded creek. Trapped inside the inoperable vehicle, including jammed door locks and windows, the driver called 911 for help. Within minutes, a Marin County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on the scene, assessing the severity of the situation. Without hesitation, the Deputy leapt into the water, swiftly breaking the rear window and creating an escape route as the vehicle filled with water. The driver was safely rescued and brought to dry land just as the creek fully overtook the vehicle. The entire rescue took only a few minutes, highlighting the fast-moving storm's danger. Marin County officials remind drivers to slow down in poor weather and avoid driving through standing water. Despite road closures being posted, two additional vehicles became stuck after ignoring the warnings.
