Wild otter sparks chaos as it runs over restaurant tables
A wild otter sparked chaos as it ran over restaurant tables in Thailand.
The aquatic animal climbed into the riverside eatery where customers waited for their order in Samut Sakhon, Thailand, on February 3.
Footage shows the glistening otter dashing towards the dining area while an employee tries to catch it.
It hid under tables and scrambled past a terrified customer to get closer to a pet dog.
Diner Prontip said: 'They could not catch the otter. It moves swiftly.
When staff members noticed the otter was curious about the dog, they used it to lure it to them.
It then hopped on a table and pulled tissue paper sheets from a dispenser, leaving a mess.
Prontip added: 'The otter was lost in the river when it was a baby. It never found its family again.
'They told us it has been going to the restaurant ever since to play or look for food.'
Otters in Thailand are semi-aquatic mammals that inhabit rivers, wetlands, and coastal areas. The Asian small-clawed otter, the smooth-coated otter, and the Eurasian otter are the most commonly found species in the country.
