A motorbike rider almost collided with an oncoming scooter that emerged in his lane.

Footage shows the two-wheeler travelling along a road when the counterflowing pink vehicle appeared in South Cotabato, the Philippines.

The two motorcycles nearly had a head-on collision, but Kyam, who was in the correct lane, quickly swerved to avoid the other rider.

Kyam quickly returned to the right lane to avoid another motorbike on the left.

He said: 'I hope it becomes a reminder to everyone to not let their guards down while on the road. It was a pretty empty provincial road, but I almost had an accident.'

The Philippines experiences frequent motorcycle accidents, mainly due to common issues like reckless driving, speeding, and poor road conditions. Many riders also fail to wear helmets or proper safety gear, which leads to more serious injuries.
