China: AI opens up new job opportunities in China's creative industries
China - Recent Storyline: AI opens up new job opportunities in China's creative industries [Voice_over] In China, artificial intelligence is increasingly being used in film production and content creation, unlocking huge demand for related talent. This young art graduate decided to venture into the AI industry instead of going for a traditional job as a designer. As an AI aesthetic engineer, he leverages his art background to help refine AI-generated video content. He believes the demand for professionals who can bridge technology and creativity is substantial but still underappreciated. [Sound_bite] Cao Jun, AI aesthetic engineer: "I think demand for AI aesthetic engineers is quite huge right now, because people haven't fully realized the necessity of the role." [Voice_over] With the rise of AI Generated Content or AIGC, jobs like AI content creators, AI director assistants, and AI scriptwriters are also emerging. Industry watchers say demand for AIGC-related professionals will increase going forward. One entrepreneur likened AI to a magic brush owned by a Chinese folklore character that made everything he painted come to life. [Sound_bite] Song Donghuan, Entrepreneur in AIGC sector: "In self-media sector, the demand for AIGC talent is almost unlimited. Once you try AI, you'll realize it's possible to bring to life ideas you've dreamed of for years. It's like giving everyone a Ma Liang's magic brush." [Voice_over] As of December, last year, more than 17 percent of China's total population said they were using generative AI products. Industry reports indicate that by 2030, China will face a talent gap of some four million professionals in AI-related fields. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
