Supporters of notorious drugs war madman Rodrigo Duterte held a rally against opponents of his daughter Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte as lawmakers sought to impeach her.

Footage shows Duterte's allies filing retaliatory criminal and graft complaints against officials of the House of Representatives, at the Office of the Ombudsman in the capital Metro Manila today, February 10.

The House of Representatives, many of whom are allies of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., last week impeached the younger Duterte over charges of corruption and conspiracy to assassinate the president and his family.

The impeachment case has been forwarded to the Senate of the Philippines, which will reconvene as an impeachment court. The trial has been set in July, after the senatorial elections.

If impeached, Sara will be removed from her post and permanently barred from holding public office.

The fiery-tempered Vice President is the daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte who led a bloody war on drugs in the country. She has been accused of violating the constitution, betraying public trust, and misusing public funds during her term.

She had forged an alliance with Marcos Jr. that saw a landslide win in the 2022 national elections. However, their partnership has since unravelled over various clashes regarding issues such as diplomacy and the country's territorial dispute with China.

Sara has also declared she 'was seriously considering' running for the presidency in 2028.
