An exhausted stray dog stranded on the edge of a motorway was rescued by a kind driver.

Footage shows the brown pooch sitting beside a concrete road barrier while the Good Samaritan and a policeman checked on him in Samut Prakan, Thailand.

The canine was taken into the black sedan and taken home by the motorist who volunteered to take him home.

Driver Pearl Sales said: ‘I called the officers for help to know what to do. They arrived immediately and helped me take Nong to my car. I took him safely with me after that.'

More than a million stray dogs and cats are roaming around Thailand due to several factors, including the lack of strict animal control laws, the prevalence of abandonment, and the high reproduction rate among them.
