This is the moment a car crashed into a road repairs vehicle on a highway in Taiwan.

CCTV footage shows the black BMW SUV colliding with the stationary 'construction cushioning' truck parked on the inner lane of National Highway No. 3 near Taichung County, on April 11 last year.

The driver, surnamed Huang, 45, claimed the assisted driving function of his car was turned on when the crash occurred.

Local media reported there were no injuries. Huang's alcohol test was also found to be clean.

Highway police later arrived to tow the wrecked vehicles from the scene.

The National Highway Police Bureau said: 'Road users who have turned on their driving assistance system must pay attention in front of the car at all times when driving on the national highway at high speeds.

'They should not rely too much on the driving assistance system, and should switch to manual control of the vehicle when appropriate.'
