Angry farmers blocked roads in central London in a protest against the proposed inheritance tax on farms.

Thousands of landowners and their supporters took to the streets, rallying in opposition to changes to the levy by the socialist Labour government.

The tax plan announced in October last year, which proposes a 20 per cent levy on farms valued at more than GBP 1 million, has sparked strong opposition from the agricultural community. They claim that small holdings would be wiped out and absorbed by globalist corporations.

Footage captured by John Ayers shows a long convoy of tractors bringing traffic to a standstill on Monday, February 10.

John said: 'A protest I support and didn't mind being held up by. I support our farmers—shame Labour don't.'

The demonstration organised by Save British Farming marks the third protest since the tax proposal was introduced.

Agricultural property relief (APR) was introduced in 1984 and allowed small family farms to be exempt from inheritance tax.

But, from April 2026, that exemption will no longer stand for inherited agricultural assets worth more than a million pounds - forcing many small landowners to sell their land to large corporations and developers.
