A ship fire killed at least one crew member and injured five others in Indonesia.

The two vessels caught fire while fueling at Marina Ancol pier in North Jakarta on Saturday evening, February 8.

Dramatic footage shows a massive blaze with a thick plume of smoke billowing from the burned watercraft.

The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency suggested that technical errors may have caused the incident, which began around 10 pm.

Gatot Sulaeman, Head of the Operations Section of the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that the five victims were crew members, while one was a tank truck driver.

The official added: 'We deployed 10 fire trucks with 26 personnel to extinguish the fire.'

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
