A lantern show in Yangliuqing ancient town, located in north China's Tianjin Municipality, has drawn large crowds of tourists to experience its festive atmosphere.
Running from Jan. 29 to Feb. 13, the event showcases over 40 sets of light installations inspired by Yangliuqing woodblock painting.
The Yangliuqing woodblock painting, one of the most popular forms of New Year decorations in China, flourished in Tianjin and the surrounding areas during a period between the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
In addition to the dazzling lantern displays, the town offers visitors traditional folk performances, adding to the charm of this cultural celebration.
