Brazil - February 12, 2025 Brazilian authorities shot down a plane that entered "clandestinely" from Venezuela with drugs, the Air Force (FAB) reported on Wednesday night (12). The military entity said in a note that it acted to "intercept an aircraft that clandestinely entered Brazilian airspace, originating from Venezuela." After ignoring orders to change its route and proceed to land, the aircraft was declared "hostile" and shot down, the entity added. According to the FAB, a helicopter was deployed on Wednesday to search for the plane. Inside the aircraft, the police found two bodies and a load of drugs, the quantity of which was not disclosed. It also did not report what type of plane it was or where it was intercepted, but noted that the action is part of the operation of the Brazilian armed forces in the fight against crime on the border.
